Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the business using PetFoodFiled) and PetFoodFiled (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What PetFoodFiled does
We prepare state pet food and treat registration paperwork. We read each state’s published rules, forms and fee schedules, fill the forms with the company and product information you give us, calculate fees and due dates, and remind you before deadlines. Each rule we use is linked to the state source it came from so you can check it.
State rules, forms and fees change. We check them regularly, but the state agency is the final authority. Always confirm fees and dates with the state before you pay or file.
2. Not legal advice
PetFoodFiled is not a law firm and does not give legal, regulatory or labeling advice. Our label checks compare your label with the published requirements we cite; they are a conformity check, not an opinion that your product or label is lawful. If you need advice about your specific situation, talk to a lawyer or regulatory consultant.
3. You are the registrant
Your company is the registrant in every state. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything you enter (company details, product names, guaranteed analyses, package sizes, tonnage, sales figures) and for reviewing every form before it is signed or submitted. You sign the forms; by signing you, not we, certify the information to the state.
4. State fees
We never collect, hold or forward state fees. You pay every state fee directly to the state — by check, or through the state’s own payment page. Our subscription price does not include any state fee.
5. When you ask us to file for you
In some states the agency lets a third party submit registrations. When you authorize us to file a state for you, we submit your registration under our own filer account and standing with that agency — never with your login. You remain the registrant and remain responsible for the information submitted and for paying the state’s fee. We will tell you what we submitted and any confirmation the state gives us. You can withdraw the authorization at any time for future filings.
6. Your account
One account is for one business (or, on plans that allow it, the brands listed on that account). Keep your password private and tell us right away at support@petfoodfiled.com if you think someone else has used your account. Do not use the service to prepare filings for a business you are not authorized to act for.
7. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not give refunds for partial periods, unless the law requires it. If we change a plan’s price we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you.
8. Acceptable use
Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, access other customers’ data, or upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and the rules current, but the service is provided “as is” and may sometimes be unavailable. We may change or stop features; if we stop the service entirely we will give you notice and a way to download your data.
10. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for late fees, penalties, stop-sale orders or lost sales that result from information you provided, from forms you did not review, or from a state changing its rules, forms or fees. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. After closing, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
